Not Blind Watchtrough Of TMNT 2012 (Season 1 Episode 22+)
Honestly, I watched most of this season before I had a Dreamwidth. And I couldn't be bothered to rewatch the previous 21 episodes cause that's hours I could spend on watching the stuff that's actually new to me. Still, I have a soft spot for this show so I'll share my thoughts about this episode specifically & then share my thoughts about the show overall so far. (it's not much, but still)

I like the idea of the lesson of this episode. Like to my understanding, ninjas were basically just Japanese assassins & spies who often had to improvise. My problem is that, apparently, it took Splinter 15 years before he tried to seriously enforce this lesson. Like, why? And why after he has let them leave? I understand why they did this from a story perspective, but to me it makes Splinter seem a little sloppy.
I found it interesting what they ended up doing with Timothy. I'm not personally a fan of his character, but he does make sense in universe. I do wonder how well they're going to handle his de-mutation.
Also apparently the Foot has custom motorbikes. I don't think it's a problem in this show about anthro ninja turtles (especially in a universe where guns are alien only option I guess), but still it made me do a double take.
Now random things I've noticed about this show:
- This show is much more mature yet childish than I remember. And by that I mean that these teens act their age in serious situations.
- On that: Leo is such a dork, my god.
- Ralph's a lot more funnier than I remember.
- Donnie is definitely the MVP in regards to their living situation.
- Mikey is definitely a lot more skilled than I remember (though that might just be because I know now how dangerous nunchucks are).
