I haven't been posting for basically the entire month, last post here, but in short my brain has been kind of a mess again. I won't go into details of that, or the legal stuff that held me up when my brain was less of a mess. Since even if I knew 100% what is going on, it feels a bit too private to share here.
So here's some fannish stuff instead:
So here's some fannish stuff instead:
- Starting to get into Pokémon again, though it isn't my main priority right now.
- Started watching the Monster High Gen 3 episodes that's on YouTube. Mainly so I can figuer out why everyone is shipping Frankie with Cleo now (also I enjoyed the first live-action movie).
- Got into Frankenstein and Jekyll & Hyde again (so yea Glass Scientists by proxy). Been working on an adaptation thingy for Frankenstein.
- Watched the first episode of Hazbin Hotel. It's fun so far, but may not finish it or Helluva Boss till much later.
- Watched the first episode of Dirk Gently (BBC 2016), similar story to the above.

Date: 2024-03-27 06:24 pm (UTC)From:Have you ever read a feminist-annotated version of Frankenstein? I did that for a gender studies class in college and it was such fun. :D I also loved the articles that pointed out things like how Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley took the highest ideal of society -- a white male doctor -- and made him the villain.
That's the kind of thing I like to do, so it amused me greatly. Also it's why I've written Frankenstein fanfic repeatedly. The biggest is my series Frankenstein's Family.

Date: 2024-03-27 08:25 pm (UTC)From:My version does make Victor not an ideal man for his society (which I'm planning on worldbuilding into something not quite Earth). In this version he'd be a bi transmasc autist. He gets viewed as a changeling by his parents who replaced their "daughter" & he has interalized how few people would genuinely accept him for not being a neurotypical cishet guy.
In my au he wants to make Adam & later Eve to start off humanity off a blank slate (no he did not think through on how'd he get rid of the old humanity). Basically he almost starts a cult of patchwork zombies till Adam later runs away with Eve, who helps choose the name Beth.
Victor in this au is pretty misanthropic and feels that (with few exceptions), humanity is helpless. Also he just generally goes trough periods of hopelessness himself. Though he's not alone in that as Elizabeth & Clerval also go through their own mental health arcs. My current plan for Victor is a bastardization arc followed by learning on how to actually take care of himself. Learning on how to communicate with his loved ones & processing his trauma caused by his parents.
My current arc ideas for Elizabeth is an exploration of trauma of having been shouldered as semi-mom by Carlina very young & the general isolation of being a semi-house-wife of nobody. Clerval's for now is learning to balance his own needs from what his friends need. Of course tweaks & changes will be made here and there as I figuer out more stuff.
