I'm aro-spec; I get to make the aro headcannons!!!

short answer: IDK man, I just think it's neat!

long answer: I thought it be great to have a aro headcannon where the aro character cared a lot for his friends (not that loveless aros are bad! they're great!). The more I thought about it the more it felt like a non-loveless-aro story. Basil is seemingly (at least emotionally) abandoned by his parents & mainly taken care of by his grandmother, and it's implied that he has trouble making friends. After Mari's death he is basically abandoned by all his friends (including the one he did a awfull thing for). While OMORI doesn't deal with amatonormativity, it is based on the IRL world, does likely having amatonormativity. Amatonormativity doesn't place high value on friendships, and by extension, the hurt of friendship break ups. Basil seemingly had to deal with the loss of all his friends to grief all while likely dealing with the trauma of not having his parents, thus worsing his already existing attachment issues. While he is not my favorite character, I do think he is intressting and, in my opinion, he´s made more intressting as an aro person.

- All of the Faraway gang (Mari included) is bi in some way, do I have evidence? No. But they are in my heart (assume this is true of most of my headcanons). Mari was the first one to come out. The rest came out over the years (Also all their parents are bi, they're aware of it on different levels).

- Basil is aromantic, yes he feels more isolated because of this. Yes he's upset that friendships aren't taken as seriously as romances. Yes he was annoyed when somebody kept trying to set him up with dates. Otherwise neutral towards romance (even if he thinks it's kinda silly).

- Aubrey is asexual, before they figure it out they think they're just being a good christain (felt really smug until they didn't).

- Aubrey is also transmasc pangender enby (they/he/she/hir). Wishes they were seen as a roseboy instead of a girl. Is really pedantic about the fact that Aubrey is technically a unisex name. Figured this out at 14. The Hooligans & his priest knew before the Faraway gang. Wants top surgery isn't completely sure about HRT.

- Kel is transfem genderfluid enby (he/they/she). Wishes to be understood as an amazon tomgirl usually. Figured this out around 14. After coming out has bracelets for what pronouns she wants to use that time (starting late 16). Wants voice training & bras but doesn't particularly want HRT. Would call herself gay-straight.

- Sunny is catgender boygirl (any/all). Really likes fucking with gender after it figures it out that its trans (around age 17). Is fond of neopronouns as a very concept. Still really confused about gender.

So I've been thinking about trans headcanons a bit now.

Specifically transmasc Aubrey, transfem Kel & recently transfem Sunny (all also enby in my mind).

I am not trying to imply that transness is just suffering/angst. Or that any & all headcanons need to be deep & meaningful. But personally I have trouble connecting & getting invested in trans headcanons unless I can see a piece of myself in there or the character would make a complicated journey through gender to find themselves.

TL;DR trans headcanons cool & people should headcanon what they enjoy
