So I was looking through my OLD hollow-knight tumblr-blog, & it is inprising me to possibly work again on my old Hollow Knight AU. I'll propably rework everything once the sequal comes out, but for funsies sake:
So the basic plot is that Hallownestian moths still exist, but Seer is the only one in recent history who was born & died in Hallownest. During the start of the Infection, moths were more seceptible to the Infection, that with blame being put on them caused a part of the moth population to flee Hallownest. Another group of moths fleed once the Infection resurged, but the group was much larger then the first group.
These Hallownestian moths spread out over to kingdoms both nearby and far away. They became an unique subgroup(s) of these socities, culturually seperate from other moths not made by the Radiance. Most of the Hallownestian moths see their exoduses as tragic, most of them wanting to live there, but it being too dangerous to do so. These moths could still hear the voice of the Radiance in their head, being warned since young to not trust or follow this voice.
Then the voice dies.
Not sure yet of the details; but evetually, small groups of the diaspora decided to go back to the ruins of Hallownest, planning to both rebuild it & possibly live there.
I'm still planning on what even, happens, afterwords (& even before & after), but there's 3 OCs:

- Whisper (xe/they): a mid-young adult butterfly-moth (non-Hallownestian). Xe decided to move with the Hallownestian moths help them move & to find work somewhere new. Xe enjoy woodworking, bookbinding, dancing & making music. They own a rat as well named Bark who helps with farmwork.
- Copper (she/her): a mid-late adult matis-moth (Hallownestian). A therapist who used to work in a diffrent kingdom till the news came of Radi's death. She has decided to come to Hallownest to help rebuild it & help the survivers of the infection. Enjoys crocheting, pottery, hunting & cooking
- Roosmarijn (he/him): a young adult snail-moth (hallownestian). He was a courier who came on the trip back to Hallownest, also he's too nosy & gossipy for his own good (basically peaked in high school). Also becomes a journalist, kind of. Likes writing, moonshine, scrapbooking & gossipping.

>>I had figuered that since bugs act like people for the most part & people can be worst, they'd likely dispaportionally blame the moths.<<
Sadly valid.
