So my brain has convinced me to make another AU (at least to practice for an actually game-following AU). So here's me brainstorming for it, I guess. I'll add to/edit this later.
[note: I haven't finished most of the games, which I will do even if I plan to treat canon like a suggestion. I also haven't finished Pokémon Special/Adventures which actually inspired me to do this AU, though I'll try not to steal much beyond the tone & weirdness. I'm not planning on incorporating the anime(s) into this]
timeline: 1996 (RGBY) -> 1999 (GSC) -> 2002 (RSE) -> 2005 (DPPT) -> 2011 (B&W) -> 2013 (B2W2) -> 2014 (X&Y) -> 2015 (USUM) -> 2018 (SWSH) -> 2021 (S&V)

misc random ideas;
- Leaf is the one who spends all her time on Mt. Silver instead of Red (who instead helps her get supplies). She lives in a cabin provided by the league where she ended up spending a ridiculous amount of time. Her mother not stopping her first because of a nasty divorce from her ex, and later cause she seemed miserable in Pallet Town. She says she stayed there to rehabilitate Mewtwo, but she also did it cause she felt unwelcome in her own town + felt like she was burdening her mother.
- Silver is still a dick to his Pokémon, but also he is just kind of a sheltered hapless mafia prince who only has half a clue about how the world works, like, in general. Is also a runaway.
- Kris was abandoned by her birth parents at roughly 8, where she was found by a Sentret who got her back to society (within 3 months). She was then adopted by her uncle Prof. Elm. (She kept that Sentret).
- Kris helped Silver steal(?) a starter from her uncle after hearing his wack-ass plan to take down Team Rocket. She decided to go with him to make sure he didn't die. (Partly cause she figured that Silver was emotionally abused. She tried to help him redirect his anger into the plan instead of his mons while calling him out).
- Giovanni's wife (Seraphina), takes over Team Rocket once he dies thanks to Mewtwo(?).
- Lance may get his arm cut off thanks to the Seraphina-run Team Rocket.
- Cyrus had Mesprit take his emotions away when he was a child.
- Dawn is the child of Giratina & a now-dead man. Giratina has largely sheltered her before letting her be an assistant to Prof. Rowan.
- Both Sada & Turo stayed but als both died (neither AI can escape their programming).
- More paradox Pokémon than the Great-Tusk & Iron-Treads have escaped causing a bunch of problems.
- Penny gets roped in for trying to alter the software of the AIs.
- Geeta already technically knew the truth about Sada & Turo, but kept quiet to keep Paldea calm.
- Geeta is the godmother of Poppy & bends the rules to get the 6 yo into the elite 4.
- Geeta purposely chooses a bad team to battle new trainers with, mostly cause she feels beating the elite 4 should be enough to be champion rank + she wants more champion ranks.
